MUDr. Gustáv Solár SLOVAKIA
Non-governmental medical facility CENTRUM AKUPUNKTÚRY (Centre of Acupuncture) in Bratislava on Ivánska cesta 23 was established in 1977 as a direct successor of Oddelenie akupunktúry a naturálnej medicíny NsP (Department of acupuncture and natural medicine NsP) in Bratislava – Ružinov after denationalization of the whole team of this department which was established in 1991 (before from 1989 it was known as Oddelenie akupunktúry Polikliniky /Department of Acupuncture/ of the Hospital on Tehelna Street in Bratislava) and from 1993 to 1995 it was also a clinical part of the associated station – Oddelenia naturálnej medicíny Výskumného ústavu humánnej bioklimatológie (Department of natural medicine of the Research Institute of Human Bioclimactology) up to its cessation in 1995.
The original facility and especially the current CENTRUM AKUPUNKTÚRY have been focussed apart from clinical work also on the research in acupuncture and it also provides trainings for doctors in the area of diagnostics.
Every single examination includes non-instrumental tactile procedure TST which has been developed at this facility. It provides maximum therapeutical effect with the use of minimum needles. CENTRUM AKUPUNKTÚRY is proud to its cutting edge technology and it also uses other therapeutical procedures, e.g. laserpuncture, electropuncture a.o.
Non-governmental medical facility CENTRUM AKUPUNKTÚRY (Centre of Acupuncture) in Bratislava is from its establishment included into the network of medical facilities in the field of acupuncture. Apart from acupuncture the Centre provides also physiotherapeuthical and psychiatric health care in the necessary range and it also uses some natural medicine procedures. It is aimed at those patients who require systematic health care, but also at those who are interested in primary or secundary prevention or those who care about retaining good health or improving their medical comfort. One can come based on the recommendation from their GP, on their own request or based on profylactic reasons. Each person interested in the health care in the Centre of Acupuncture first goes through the preliminary examination which includes the computer electroacugraphy (EAG), basic physical examination, complex acupunctural examination and examination of their kinetic apparatus. Based on the results of these tests we suggest the patient their further treatment, if appropriate also some other professional tests in other medical facilities. This all is happening during the patient’s first appointment. If it is required by their condition, we start with complex manipulation treatment followed by acupunctural treatment. Automatic element of the preliminary examination is also a consultation from the area of natural medicine. After this preliminary examination we schedule the patient’s next appointments based on their medical need. It is necessary to schedule both the preliminary examination and the follow-ups by telephone or in person.
Preliminary examination
During the patient’s first appointment we set their medical record which is the part of the medical documentation and it stays at the Centre of Acupuncture. This type of documentation is required by law, it is confidential and is the subject of medical secret provision laid down by law. It enables the medical staff to provide a quality treatment during patients’ appointment at the Centre of Acupuncture. The preliminary examination lasts approximately three hours. It is not necessary to come on an empty stomach. It is followed by the computer electroacugraphy (EAG) examination.
The computer electroacugraphy (EAG) is a complex examination of an organism by the unique diagnostical device AGES, clinical part of which has been developed at the Centre of Acupuncture. It is an expert system which allows us to monitor currently and continuously all acupunctural meridians of organs and thus get a complex picture about the status of an organism. During the examination the electrodes are places on the patient’s body, they are reading the data and transfering them to the device. The examination is absolutely painless and completely safe. Except for kinetic discomfort there are no other contra-indications and it is possible to use it also with the patients wearing a pace-maker. Patients are not galvanically connected to the actual device and the data are transferred by an infraport (which is the same connection as, for instance, between a remote control and a TV a.o.). This examination is available for everyone regardless of age, also for children, provided they stay calm. EAG provides complex acupunctural diagnostics. It is applied in treatment, differential diagnostics (diagnosis specification) as well as a part of a profylactic test for managers, sportsmen and all who care about prevention.
Acupuncture and pharmacopuncture
Acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, laserpuncture (and other techniques) follow-ups supported by other diagnostic acupunctural procedures lead to complex energy-informational adjustment and harmonization of the organism. Patients are able to follow the process of treatment in the course of TST technique (tactile examination). This kind of adjustment is of therapeutical and also profylactic importance; it does not present an extra load for the organism, on the contraty, it optimalises its activity. When necessary, we recommend other medical examinations or treatments so that the complex mediacal treatment is ensured.
Manual medicine
Automatic part of the first examination (others as well, if necessary) is the backbone and joints treatment followed by physiotherapeutical techniques. It essentially improves the effect of acupuncture and also significantly helps to optimalise patients’ status also in profylaxy.
Another part of the examination is also evaluation of suitability of the patient’s bed as well as suitability of worn jewellry and accessories. Each patient goes through this kind of preliminary examination and the following treatment
a) during their first appointment,
b) if the patient had their last appointment more than 6 months ago,
c) if it is required by their medical status (based on the doctor’s recommendation or their own request)
Check-ups and treatment
After the preliminary examination and treatment it is necessary to undergo also a check-up and treatment approximately 7-10 after the entry examination. The patients are scheduled for the check-ups and treatment based on their needs. This kind of examination and treatment lasts approximately one hour. It consists of basic acupunctural examination (without EAG) followed by treatment in the same manner as during the preliminary examination.
Physiotherapeutic treatment
is a part of treatment or profylaxy at the Centre of Acupuncture. Based on the medical status or an agreement the patient can undergo
- soft physiotherapeutic techniques based on the medical status
- autogennous training (relaxation technique suitable both for treatment and prevention)
- machine massage (on an electric cushion)
Psychiatric treatmentWe provide this treatment to our patients within the complex approach as a supplementary part of acupuncture mostly for patients with neurotic symptoms, but also for children and for all those who need it. The Centre of Acupuncture cannot substitute for psychiatric out-patient treatment in cases where a continuous follow-up is necessary , or in cases of psychosis (e.g. schizophreny). Another part of the Centre’s treatment is also counselling regarding using and delivery various natural substances which we recommend based on the patient’s medical status.
